1. Click the Preview and Size tab in Job Editor.
2. Select the rotation value from the Image Setup area.
3. Click Apply. If your image is a raster file, a dialog appears asking if you want to overwrite the original file or to create a new file. Choose the option you want, and click OK.

 

NOTE: Depending on the file size, rotating an image can take several minutes.

For PostScript files, rotation is relative to the image’s original orientation. For example, if you rotated an image 90º counterclockwise (by selecting 270º), when you meant to rotate it 90º clockwise, selecting 90º and applying the change will orient the image correctly.

 

NOTE: This rotates the image only, not the page. To rotate both, open the Job Properties dialog box (Alt+Enter), and select Rotate Page on the PostScript tab. You can also modify the page manually by enabling Crop Outside Page in the PS Setup area of the Preview & Size Tab, and dragging the page boundaries to the desired location.

For raster images, rotation is relative to the image’s current orientation. For example, if you rotated an image 90º counterclockwise (by selecting 270º), when you meant to rotate it 90º clockwise, selecting 180º and applying the change will orient the image correctly.

Image Flip allows you to print a reverse image (mirror image) of your job. This feature is particularly useful when printing on backlit media or transparencies.

 

To flip an image:

1. Click the Preview and Size tab in Job Editor.
2. Select Image Flip from the Image Setup area.
3. Click Apply. If your image is a raster file, a dialog appears asking if you want to overwrite the original file or to create a new file. Choose the option you want, and click OK.

 

NOTE: Depending on the file size, flipping an image can take several minutes.

 

Some raster files cannot be flipped by overwriting the source file. These files must be converted to another format. Instead of using the Image Flip feature, you may also use Print Reflection to print the reverse of the image. Image Flip will process the image reversed, whereas Print Reflection processes the image normally, but reverses the image at print time. Using Print Reflection is generally more efficient.
